Chaplin Estates Real Estate
Chaplin Estates real estate is a higher end enclave of older era homes and estates. It is a relatively small area with boundaries of Yonge and Avenue (east and west) and Eglinton and Chaplin Crescent to the north and south.
This area is home to amazing homes, some border directly on Oriole Park and the Kay Gardiner Beltline. It is a great walking and biking trail along the southern boundary of Chaplin Estates. It is a 5 to 6 Km former rail corridor that runs from Mt Pleasant Avenue on the east to the Allen Freeway on the West. On the eastern end it connects with the roadways of the Mt Pleasant Cemetery to create walkways to Bayview Avenue. This area is used year around by walks, bikers and dog enthusiasts alike.
Chaplin Estates real estate has many homes bordering on this park-like setting along the rear portions of their homes and ready access for running, walking, biking or taking the pooch for their daily stroll. This area is mainly residential, with a few condo and rental units along the periphery. There are few, if any business or other establishments in the area, save for a gas station or two. Eglinton West is the closest opportunity for dining or shopping.
With the construction of the Crosstown Light rapid Transit, there will be direct access to this line at the intersection of Chaplin Crescent and Eglinton. From there it will be an easy commute to mid-town, Scarborough and even Pierson International Airport. The Crosstown is scheduled for completion by 2021 and will be a welcome relief for those who have been part of this massive transit project for years.
Chaplin Estates real estate home prices tend to be over 2 million dollars for even those homes in need for refurbishing. Newer rebuilds have been approaching and exceeding the 4 million dollar mark recently. It is a great, quiet, family neighbourhood with some long term residents and their families. Definitely an area where cars are required for getting around, at least until the Light Rail has been competed. This is a great family neighbourhood with many long-term established neighbours.
